Yevgeniya "Zhenya" Semet received her formal education at Russia’s Fedoskino Art Institute, the world’s premier school of lacquer miniature painting. She spent many years in Russia painting lacquer boxes, chests & brooches, reflecting classical themes or custom portraits for clients.

She later received an MFA & MS Ed. from Moscow State Pedagogical University and began to spend more time in the US. Since permanently relocating to South Florida in 2015, she has painted exclusively on canvas, predominantly in a romantic, realistic style.

Zhenya also teaches classical drawing and painting to local kids and adults, with a particular focus on teenagers preparing to enter art school.
